About Us
We are a group of Freshman English 110 students in Robert Blaskiewicz's section 28 class. For our final project we chose to research the assassination of the United States' 35th President, John F. Kennedy. Each of us focused on a specific topic involved with his assassination and created a page on this website. Below is an introduction to all four members of our group and to each individual topic.
Laurel: "Hi I'm Laurel, and my page was the Media's perspective and coverage. This was a fun topic to research. I found some interesting information that helped me learn more about JFK's assassination. I found videos that were filmed in real time, like the shooting of both Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald. Those were both gruesome and interesting to see. I didn't even think about how the media influenced the public before I started researching this topic."
Nicole: "Hey, I'm Nicole and I did my research on different conspiracy theories surrounding the assassination of President Kennedy. I found a wide variety of information when looking through different conspiracies and some honestly made me laugh. There were many different theories that I found when researching that fit the facts that were released by the United States government and it was easy to see how the ideas were created; however, most had something small, seemingly insignificant, that made it impossible for them to work and be true. I also found many different theories that were completely bogus and I don't even understand how they came up with these ideas, but they sure did make my topic interesting to research. I had heard many different theories before I began my research but I found the entire situation more interesting once I dove into the different theories completely."
Emily: "Hello there, my name is Emily and I decided to research a specific conspiracy. This led me to the Jim Garrison case which was the conspiracy that got the farthest, it even made it to trial. It was an interesting topic to research because I never could understand how they were able to bring it to court. The only evidence they had were witnesses, and unconvincing pictures. Jim Garrison was intent on proving his theory but he never was able to get far."
Michelle: "Hey, my name's Michelle. The research I focused on was JFK's impact on pop culture now and how he is still being commercialized even today. This topic was actually really fun to look into, because I did not realize just how much JFK has been a contemporary influence. As it turns out, there is actually quite a long list of things he has influenced in some way, from band names to movies. I was a little surprised! Especially with the 50th anniversary coming up, the list of things he has influenced is constantly increasing."
