"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what can you do for your country."

Movies
There is also quite an arsenal of movies that were produced using John F. Kennedy as an inspiration. Unfortunately, the majority of the films were centered around the different conspiracy theories that people believe to be true regarding the assassination. Below is a list of the movies that have been collaborated and years they were produced:
"I've got it! Lee Harvey Oswald wanted to steal the Jack Ruby!" — Homer Simpson, The Simpsons
The above quote said by Homer Simpson is a great example of how the assassination is still used as a form of entertainment.
This very song was produced right after the assassination occurred, and hit nerves in the audience nation-wide. Now when people of that generation, or anyone in general, hear this song, they associate it with tragedy. The song is said to be a part of the grieving process the nation endured as a whole.
50th year anniversary...
With this year (2013) being the 50th anniversary of the assassination, there are a number of things happening in contemporary media.
For example, the upcoming movie, Parkland, is making its debut this year for the anniversary. The movie's main focus is Parkland Hospital, and the events that took place there on that fateful day in November. Parkland was the place where John F. Kennedy spent his last moments.
There is even an opera being produced in the name of JFK. Literally speaking, the title is JFK and it is being commissioned for the 50th anniversary of the assassination. Although the opera will not be available for viewing until 2016, it is currently under construction by the Fort Worth Opera.
The video above was designed for the 50th anniversary. This was a memorial tribute to JFK. The music was specially written and the video shows a little footage of the famous Zapruder film, along with famous speeches JFK performed.
In Dealey Plaza, there is to be a huge memorial tribute to JFK. It is going to be held on the very day and hour the tragic event happened so many years ago. Unfortunately, there is a lot of controversy surrounding the event. Most of that is believed to be due to the number of conspiracy theorists that want to make an appearance. It is said to be open to the public, but sources say tickets will have to be bought and the theorists will not be allowed in. Of course, we still have a few months for this event to take place, so who knows what will really happen.
There are memorials taking place all over the nation and globe for JFK. Some are not even just for the assassination. For example, according to http://www.jfk50ireland.com/, there is a couple of other moments that will be commemorated that also took place during that year. JFK's visit to Ireland was one of the most pivotal moments in Ireland's history, and will be on that agenda of events to commemorate. The visit took place the summer before the assassination.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, and I would say this picture proves that to be true. The quote alone says so much about President Kennedy himself, it is almost uncanny. Here we are, 50 years later, only to find that it still stand to reason. Kennedy died an undeserving death, but now we still look back at him as a president and a great one at that. His ideas are still engraved in this nation today.
Why is the JFK assassination still so frequently talked about today?
This Time Magazine is dated 1988. Why, after 25 years, is the controversy still being debated? Word got around so fast and to so many people. This event was one that spread quickly because of all the news coverage it got. So why do people still talk about it, or believe different conspiracies?
These are some of the reasons.
1. There is a national appetite for mystery and entertainment.
2. The belief that secret plotters killed Kennedy was first made popular by OliverStone's 1992 movie, JFK.
3. The CIA acknowledges that it still has thousands of pages of information pertaining to JFK's assassination that the public has never seen.
4. People didn't want to believe that one man, a pathetic one at that, could kill the most powerful man in the world and change the course of history.
But in reality, there really shouldn't be any reasons for the public to still believe these conspiracies. All serious historians believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in shooting Kennedy. No one high-up in the US Government ever thought there was a conspiracy behind his murder.

I think it is fair to say the JFK assassination still has a lot of hype following it. Despite the upcoming 50th anniversary, the assassination still has many people enticed by what happened, or what they may believe happened. Upon the research I was able to find, it seems that most of the reason (besides the anniversary) that the case is still so popular is because of all the conspiracies surrounding it. Even with the 50th coming up, people are turning that into a reason to spark more theories and hopefully attract new believers.
